WNBA: A'ja Wilson leads Las Vegas Aces to comeback win over Indiana Fever
Despite falling down by double digits in the fourth quarter, the Las Vegas Aces used a late comeback to escape with an 84-80 win over the Indiana Fever on Sunday evening at Gainbridge Fieldhouse! Aces star center A'ja Wilson scored a season-high 27 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks to help remain undefeated with a 6-0 record.
It appeared the Fever were going to pick up a signature win over the WNBA's defending champion but the Aces were able to stage a late run to regain the lead and eventually stay unbeaten. Becky Hammon's team trailed 71-61 with 7:14 remaining in the fourth quarter before finishing the game on a 23-9 run to secure a victory.
Las Vegas backcourt duo Chelsea Gray and Jackie Young were instrumental in completing the comeback alongside Wilson as well. Gray finished with 17 points and eight rebounds, plus Young totaled 19 points and four assists in the win. Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell posted a team-best 22 points but it wasn't enough to upset the Aces.
Stay tuned for more coverage throughout the season as Las Vegas looks to keep the momentum going against the Connecticut Sun this week, while Indiana will try to snap it's losing skid against the Chicago Sky on Tuesday.
