NFL: Rams, Ramsey reach major deal

The Los Angeles Rams have signed star cornerback to a five-year contract worth $105 million and approximately $71.2 million guaranteed. The 25-year-old is now the highest paid defensive back in NFL history and is the first DB to sign a deal worth more than $100 million. Ramsey was selected fifth overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2016 NFL Draft before helping the team reach the 2018 AFC title game. He was traded to the Rams late last season and seems to be a part of LA’s future plans. The 6’1 cornerback totaled 50 tackles, five pass deflections, two forced fumbles, and one interception in 12 appearances last year. The Rams defense is headlined by Aaron Donald, Leonard Floyd, Ramsey, A’Shawn Robinson, and others. LA starts the season on Sunday, September 13 versus the Dallas Cowboys.
