NFL: Mahomes injured in Chiefs win
The Kansas City Chiefs (14-2, 1-0) defeated the Cleveland Browns (11-5, 1-1) in the AFC Divisional Round on Sunday, Jan. 17 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City to advance to their third consecutive conference championship game. With that said, though, the Chiefs lost Patrick Mahomes to a concussion in the third quarter and his status for next week's matchup with the Buffalo Bills is in peril. Kansas City jumped out to a 19-3 lead before holding on for a 22-17 win. According to Arrowhead Pride, Mahomes is in concussion protocol and will begin a five-step process to get cleared to play. Chad Henne filled in for the 2018 MVP by going for 78 yards and one interception, and would be the projected starter if Mahomes is ruled out.
