NBA: Wizards deal Wall for Westbrook
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Washington Wizards traded John Wall and a 2023 first round pick to the Houston Rockets for Russell Westbrook. Westbrook played just one year in Houston, averaging 27.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 7.0 assists in 57 games before struggling in the postseason. The Rockets went just 5-7 and were eliminated in the second round. On the other hand, John Wall hasn't played since Dec. 26, 2018 after suffering multiple injuries. Washington pairs Westbrook with an elite backcourt mate Bradley Beal and 9th overall pick Deni Avdija, while Houston hopes to keep Harden alongside DeMarcus Cousins, Christian Wood, and Wall. The NBA regular season starts on Tuesday, Dec. 22.
