Timberwolves take down Pelicans 102-88 in Summer League opener
During the NBA Summer League opener, the Minnesota Timberwolves secured a 102-88 win over the New Orleans Pelicans as rookie forward Leonard Miller compiled 16 points, 11 rebounds and two steals! Josh Minott finished with 20 points and four rebounds as the Timberwolves eventually pulled away from the Pelicans on Friday afternoon.
Miller showcased his ability to score from all three levels and defend multiple positions during his impressive Timberwolves debut in the Las Vegas Summer League! Brandon Williams scored a game-high 24 points and three assists, highlighted by this smooth finish at the rim as Minnesota started the Summer League with a blowout win.
Stay tuned throughout the Summer League as the Timberwolves look to make some noise in Las Vegas this month. In addition to Miller and Minott, Minnesota's roster is headlined by second-year guard Wendell Moore Jr. Minnesota will play two more games before wrapping up Summer League pool play against the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night.
