NBA: Suns deal Oubre, Rubio for CP3
Chris Paul has been traded from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Kelly Oubre, Ricky Rubio, Jalen Lecque, Ty Jerome, and a 2022 first round pick. Phoenix will also acquire Abdel Nadar in the trade. Paul, who is 35-years-old, was still one of the best point guards in the league a year ago, averaging 17.6 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.0 rebounds. Sam Presti and the Thunder are trying to stack up as many draft picks as possible as they now have eight additional first round picks through 2026. Phoenix got a lot better following the addition of Rubio so expect an even bigger jump as Paul joins the team. We predict the Paul and Booker-led Suns will clinch a playoff spot for the first time since 2010 even if it’s unlikely to lead to a title.
