NBA: Spoken Truth Podcast reflects on Western Conference playoff race
The Spoken Truth Podcast previewed how the Western Conference playoffs could shape up as the regular season comes to a close in a couple weeks. Danny Murphy, Charles Post and Tunde Aduroja discussed if the NBA-best Phoenix Suns should be considered title favorites and how Chris Paul's injury will effect their chances going forward. Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks are making a run at taking home court advantage from the Utah Jazz as both teams are 45-29 with eight games remaining on the schedule. Luka Dončić and Donovan Mitchell have been playing at an elite level as the postseason approaches. Mitchell is knocking down 41.3% from 3-point range since the beginning of February.
Just below the Denver Nuggets are the red-hot Minnesota Timberwolves, who are hoping to catch one of the aforementioned teams and escape the play-in. Minnesota has gone 12-3 since All-Star weekend and split two matchups against the Mavericks this week as Patrick Beverley continues to have a major impact on the organization. We also talked about the reeling Clippers and Lakers, who are locked into the play-in tournament. Anthony Davis and Paul George are projected to return prior to the postseason but it's going to be difficult to make a run. The Clippers are riding a 5-game losing streak while the Lakers are 3-7 in their last 10 games. Listen to the full episode on Spotify and watch on YouTube.
