NBA: Spoken Truth Podcast live coverage of first round series
On the latest live episode of the Spoken Truth Podcast, we covered the Bucks series-clinching win over the Bulls in Game 5 and the Warriors 102-98 victory over the Nuggets to advance to the second round yesterday. Mike Budenholzer improved to 8-0 in close-out games since being hired in 2018. Even without Khris Middleton (left knee sprain), the Bucks found a way to win three straight games and eliminate the Bulls. Zach LaVine (health & safety protocol) and Alex Caruso (concussion) also missed Game 5. Despite trailing for the majority of the second half, Golden State survived Denver's last stand to win their first series since 2019. Stephen Curry scored a team-high 30 points in the win.
We also discussed Jayson Tatum's consistent ascension and the Celtics' chances of winning the East, Kevin Durant's disappointing series as the Nets were swept in the first round, the wildly entertaining series between the Grizzlies and Timberwolves, if the Raptors can complete the biggest comeback in NBA history after trailing 3-0 against the 76ers, and much more! Make sure to check out the full podcast on Spotify and watch on YouTube as we go live every week to analyze and preview the ongoing NBA playoffs. The second round is scheduled to start on Sunday afternoon as the Celtics host the defending-champion Bucks. We'll be back early next week to wrap up the weekend action.
