NBA: Power Rankings 13.0

The end of the regular season came to an end on Sunday night with a flurry of playoff-type games including Golden State staving off Memphis behind Stephen Curry's 46-point performance, Washington coming back to beat Charlotte fueled by another Russell Westbrook triple-double, and New York clinching home court advantage in the first round. Check out our updated power rankings and award projections below!

1. Utah Jazz (52-20, +1): Utah finishes the regular season at the top of our power rankings with a 52-20 record and a NBA-best +9.2 point differential. When this team is completely healthy, they’re elite on both ends of the floor and a deep playoff run has to be the expectation. The Jazz are 31-5 at home and 7-3 in their last 10 games, and will start the postseason on their home court against the 8-seed team, which will be determined in the upcoming play-in tournament.

2. Phoenix Suns (51-21, -1): The Suns are heading into the playoffs riding a 3-game winning streak and holding onto the second best home record in the Western Conference at 27-9. With that said, Phoenix could be facing either the Lakers or Warriors in the opening round which could cause issues. Phoenix went 4-2 in the regular season against those teams. Devin Booker (25.6 points, 4.3 assists per game) and DeAndre Ayton will be the key in their first playoff appearance.

3. Philadelphia 76ers (49-23, +1): Philadelphia recently clinched the 1-seed in the Eastern Conference, finishing 49-23 and 8-2 in their last 10. With Joel Embiid (28.5 points, 10.6 rebounds per game) and Ben Simmons seemingly healthy, the 76ers believe they can compete for a Finals berth. Philadelphia’s defense will be even more important going forward as they’re allowing just 108.1 points per game, which ranks 6th best in the league.

4. Brooklyn Nets (48-24, -1): The Nets sit at fourth in our rankings but should be considered the favorites to win it all if everyone is healthy. According to Vegas Insider, the Nets (+225) are favorites to win it all ahead of the Lakers (+425), Clippers (+600), and Jazz (+750). Brooklyn is riding a 5-game win streak behind Kyrie Irving (26.9 points, 6.0 assists per game), Kevin Durant, and company, and they'll have a good chance to extend it against the Celtics or Wizards this weekend.

5. Denver Nuggets (47-25, +0): Denver didn’t play up to their potential in the last game of the season, bowing out 132-116 on the road versus Portland. The Nuggets were able to clinch the 3-seed in the West, though, and they’ll get a chance for revenge against the Trail Blazers in the first round. Nikola Jokic (26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds per game) and Michael Porter Jr. will look to continue playing at a high level after finishing a division-best 9-3, including two narrow victories over Portland.
