NBA: Opening night tips off in Brooklyn
The Brooklyn Nets (1-0) and Golden State Warriors (0-1) tipped off the 2020-21 regular season on Tuesday, Dec. 23. The Nets are one of the most intriguing teams in the league this year with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving healthy, as well as returners Spencer Dinwiddie and Caris LeVert. Brooklyn's offense looked elite in their debut, scoring 40 first quarter points and winning 125-99. Irving finished with a game-high 26 points and four assists, while Durant totaled 22 points. LeVert scored 20 off the bench for the Nets. Stephen Curry shot just 33.3% from the field but put up 20 points and 10 assists in the loss. In the second game of the doubleheader, the Clippers (1-0) upset the Lakers (0-1) behind Paul George's 33 points and six boards.
