NBA: OKC won’t bring back Billy Donovan

Staff Writer

The Oklahoma City Thunder have announced that they won't be brining back head coach Billy Donovan. Oklahoma City was the fifth seed in the Western Conference after going 44-28 in the regular season, before being eliminated by the Houston Rockets in seven games in the first round. Donovan's contract was expiring and the front office didn't not to renew it, despite being a finalist for the 2020 Coach of the Year award. The former Florida Gators head coach reached the playoffs in all five seasons with OKC and was within one game of reaching the 2016 NBA Finals before falling to the Golden State Warriors in seven. Donovan, who won two championships at Florida, is considering a return to college as well as remaining in the NBA.
