NBA: All-Star roster projections
Eastern Conference:
G: James Harden (Nets)
G: Bradley Beal (Wizards)
F: Kevin Durant (Nets)
F: Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks)
C: Joel Embiid (76ers)
G: Kyrie Irving (Nets)
G: Jaylen Brown (Celtics)
F: Jayson Tatum (Celtics)
F: Julius Randle (Knicks)
C: Bam Adebayo (Heat)
G: Zach LaVine (Bulls)
F: Khris Middleton (Bucks)
Bucks, Celtics, and Nets take up more than half of East roster: Bradley Beal, who leads the league with 33.1 points, is expected to be a starter in his third appearance, alongside either James Harden or Kyrie Irving in the backcourt. The other three starter spots are nearly locked up as Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Joel Embiid lead the way. Embiid is putting up 29.6 points and 10.8 rebounds per game. A couple of Celtics in Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum should make the roster, while Bam Adebayo and Khris Middleton should be back for a second consecutive season. Zach LaVine and Julius Randle, who are looking for their first All-Star Game appearance, are projected to take up the last two roster spots over the likes of Jimmy Butler, Jerami Grant, Domantas Sabonis, Ben Simmons, Trae Young, and others.
Western Conference:
G: Stephen Curry (Warriors)
G: Luka Dončić (Mavericks)
F: Kawhi Leonard (Clippers)
F: LeBron James (Lakers)
C: Nikola Jokić (Nuggets)
G: Damian Lillard (Trail Blazers)
G: Donovan Mitchell (Jazz)
F: Paul George (Clippers)
F: Zion Williamson (Pelicans)
C: Rudy Gobert (Jazz)
G: Chris Paul (Suns)
F: Anthony Davis (Lakers)
Clippers, Lakers, and Jazz earn two players each on West roster: LeBron James, who is in search of a 17th consecutive All-Star Game appearance, will almost certainly start alongside Kawhi Leonard and Nikola Jokić in the Western Conference frontcourt. As for the backcourt, just two of the following three players will get the starting nod: Stephen Curry, Luka Dončić, and Damian Lillard. We're projecting Lillard is a reserve in his 6th appearance. The only player in the West that is projected to make their ASG debut is Zion Williamson, who is averaging 24.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per night. Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell will represent the Jazz, while Anthony Davis, Paul George, and Chris Paul are expected to make the final cut instead of Devin Booker, Mike Conley, Brandon Ingram, CJ McCollum, Ja Morant, and more.
