NBA: Looking back at Anthony Edwards' superb sophomore season
Even though the Timberwolves failed to advance past the first round, Anthony Edwards flashed elite potential during his sophomore season with several explosive scoring performances and fastbreak finishes over defenders. Edwards dropped a career-high 48 points at Golden State in early November before eclipsing that with 49 points against the Spurs in April. The former #1 overall pick became the fourth-youngest player in NBA history to reach 2,500 career points in February. A few other memorable moments from his sophomore season includes a high-flying slam against the Nets and a 30-point showing in the play-in tournament en route to Minnesota reaching the playoffs for the first time since 2018.
