NBA: Julius Randle rewarded most improved player
Julius Randle has been rewarded the 2020-21 NBA Most Improved Player after a truly special regular season with the New York Knicks. The 26-year-old power forward becomes the first New York player to take home the trophy. Randle averaged 24.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 6.0 assists on 45.6% shooting from the field, while playing an NBA-high 37.6 minutes per game. The Knicks signed the former 7th overall pick in 2019 after missing out on free agents Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving but Randle has been the impetus behind New York's resurgent season as the team clinched a playoff berth for the first time since 2013. Make sure to watch NBA on TNT's recording of Randle's four-year old son, Kyden, surprising him with the award on Tuesday during practice. The other award finalists included Jerami Grant and Michael Porter Jr.
