NBA: Jordan Clarkson secures sixth man award

Jordan Clarkson, who helped the Utah Jazz finish an NBA-best 52-20 with his instant energy and tough shot-making off the bench, has been named the 2020-21 NBA Sixth Man of the Year. The former second round pick out of Missouri signed a four-year deal with Utah after being traded by the Cleveland Cavaliers a year ago. In his second year with the Jazz, Clarkson averaged 18.4 points and 4.0 rebounds on 42.5% shooting from the field. He also dropped 30+ four times, including 41 points (24 in the fourth quarter) against the Golden State Warriors. The 28-year-old is the first Utah player to win this award, beating out Derrick Rose and teammate Joe Ingles. Clarkson had the most win shares (7.0) of any sixth man winner since James Harden (9.3) in 2012 and is also the ninth guard in the last 10 years to take home the trophy.
