NBA: Curry keeps MVP lead, KD & Jokic making head way

1. Stephen Curry (27.7 PPG, 5.9 APG, 5.3 RPG): The greatest shooter of all-time is back at the top of the MVP conversation. Curry has struggled the last six games, shooting at just 30% from beyond the arc. However, he has been sensational this season despite recent struggles. After averaging 22 points in the last six games, Curry has bounced back with two straight 30-point performances. With the Warriors having the second-best record in the league at 25-6 and with his play, Curry has firmly entered the best player in the world conversation again.

2. Kevin Durant (29.7 PPG, 7.9 RPG, 5.9 APG): Durant is one of the greatest scores in NBA history. His sensational play has catapulted him into the best player in the world conversation alongside Curry. Durant has led a Kyrie-less Nets team to the best record in the Eastern Conference at 23-9. Durant owns the highest scoring game this season with a 51-point onslaught against the Pistons. Durant is logging over 41 minutes per game game while playing perhaps the best basketball of his career including when he won back-to-back Finals MVPs.

3. Nikola Jokic (25.8 PPG, 14.0 RPG , 7.1 APG): Jokic and the Nuggets are currently in the 5th seed in the Western Conference with a 17-16 record. The current league MVP continues to lead the shorthanded Nuggets to a sold record in the NBA thus far this season. Jokic has dominated the league as one of the best big men for the past two seasons. While defending Finals MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is regarded as the most dominant player since Shaquille O’Neal, Jokic brings a different type of dominance and presence to the game.

Next 5 Candidates:

4. Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks)

5. Chris Paul (Suns)

6. Rudy Gobert (Jazz)

7. Trae Young (Hawks)

8. Donovan Mitchell (Jazz)
