NBA: 2022 All-Star Game starter projections
With the 2022 NBA All-Star Game approaching, it’s time to make picks for the Eastern and Western Conference starters. The 71st edition of the event will be played on February 20, 2022 at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland. The West is so fluid that I believe the only locks are Stephen Curry, LeBron James and Nikola Jokić. A legitimate case could be made for Devin Booker, Chris Paul and Donovan Mitchell over Ja Morant for the second backcourt spot. The East also has some potential upsets in the making. Zach LaVine arguably deserves to be an All-Star alongside running mate DeMar DeRozan instead of Trae Young, since the Bulls are an Eastern Conference-best 27-11 while the Hawks are the 12th seed with a 17-23 record. Without further ado, let’s take a look at my projected All-Star starters for 2022.
Western Conference:
G: Stephen Curry (Warriors)
G: Ja Morant (Grizzlies)
F: LeBron James (Lakers)
F: Rudy Gobert (Jazz)
C: Nikola Jokić (Nuggets)
Eastern Conference:
G: Trae Young (Hawks)
G: DeMar DeRozan (Bulls)
F: Kevin Durant (Nets)
F: Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks)
C: Joel Embiid (76ers)
