NBA: 2020-21 season to stat Dec. 22

According to ESPN and other sources, the NBA has announced their decision to start the 2020-21 season on Tuesday, Dec. 22. Instead of a normal 82-game schedule, the league will play 72 games prior to the playoffs. The player's representatives voted to approve the late December start despite the NBA Finals finishing up just over a month ago. We're going to experience an extremely fast forwarded version of the offseason with the draft occurring on Wednesday, Nov. 18, training camps beginning on Tuesday, Dec. 1, and free agency somewhere in between. According to reports, the NBA wanted to assure long-term revenue by including Christmas Day games and completing the entire season before the Summer Olympics.
