CFB: Clemson, Georgia clash in must-see season opener
The Georgia Bulldogs outlasted the Clemson Tigers 10-3 on Saturday, Sept. 4 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. Following a scoreless first quarter, DJ Uiagalelei was picked off by Christopher Smith and returned for a 74-yard touchdown to put Georgia up 7-0 at halftime. Jack Podlesny knocked through a short field goal with 2:38 left in the third quarter, giving the Bulldogs a 10-0 lead as Kirby Smart's defense continued to smother the Tigers. Georgia finished the game with seven sacks, limiting Clemson to an incredible 0.1 yards per rush. Uiagalelei was under pressure all night long as the team was held to just three points, a 22-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. Zamir White ran for a game-high 74 rushing yards, while JT Daniels went 22/30 for 135 passing yards. Georgia will look to remain undefeated against UAB in their home opener on Saturday afternoon.
