CBB: Baylor blasts Gonzaga, Butler named MOP

The Baylor Bears (28-2, 6-0) capped off their dominant run with a 86-70 victory over top seeded Gonzaga (31-1, 5-1) on Monday night to win the first national championship in school history. Jared Butler, who was later named Final Four Most Outstanding Player, scored 22 points and seven assists in the win. Davion Mitchell and MaCio Teague added a combined 34 points and eight rebounds for the Bears. Jalen Suggs had 22 points in the loss. Baylor, who blew out Houston in the Final Four, came into this game as 4.5-point underdogs to undefeated Gonzaga. Butler finished at the top of our Tournament MVP after putting up 15.2 points per game, just ahead of Johnny Juzang and Drew Timme. Check out our final rankings below!
