SOC: Manchester United eliminated from Europa League

Manchester United was eliminated from the Europa League tournament on Sunday, August 16 as Sevilla came away with an impressive 2-1 victory. Bruno Fernandes got the scoring going in the 9th minute on a penalty kick after Marcus Rashford was tripped up in the box but that would stand as the only goal for Man United on the day. Soso was able to tie the match at one goal apiece with a 26th minute goal. The score remained the same until Luuk De Jong broke the tie with a 78th minute score to put Sevilla ahead for good. United totaled 20 shots (seven on target) but allowed Sevilla to hold 54% of the possession. Sevilla will now advance to face either Inter Milan or Shakhtar Donetsk in the final, which will take place on Friday, August 21 at 3:00 PM.
