NFL: Dallas signs Everson Griffen
The Dallas Cowboys signed defensive end Everson Griffen on Wednesday, August 12 after he spent 10 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. Griffen was a four-time Pro Bowler with the Vikings, including three straight years from 2015-2017. According to Dallas Cowboys Staff Writer Rob Phillips, the deal is worth one-year and the Cowboys had to release Jalen Jelks in order to create a roster spot. Jelks was drafted by Dallas in the seventh round of the NFL Draft last year but spent his entire rookie season on the injured reserve list. Griffen picked up 41 total tackles, 24 quarterback hits, eight sacks, and two pass deflections in 15 games with the Vikings last season.
