NFL: Titans extend Derrick Henry
Derrick Henry has agreed to a four-year contract extension with the Tennessee Titans. According to the Ringer, the deal is worth $50 million, with a guarantee of approximately $25.5 million. The 6'3 running back is going into his fifth year, all of which have been with Tennessee after they drafted him in 2016. Henry exploded a year ago, compiling 1,540 rushing yards, 303 rushing attempts, 16 touchdowns, and 5.1 yards per carry. After carrying the Titans offense to the AFC title game last year, Henry was expected to get a major deal and now Tennessee makes it clear that he's their franchise player for the foreseeable future. The 26-year-old is inarguably a top-five running back in the league, along with guys like Christian McCaffrey, Saquon Barkley, and Ezekiel Elliott, and he got paid as such.
