NFL: Colts land Xavier Rhodes
The Indianapolis Colts have signed cornerback Xavier Rhodes on a one-year deal. The 29-year-old was one of the top cornerbacks in the league in 2017 but hasn't been as good the last two seasons. With that said, Rhodes will have a chance to improve the Colts' secondary. He spent seven seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, as they consistently made the playoffs with solid defenses. Minnesota released him last month and Rhodes will get a fresh start with the Colts, who will look to compete for a playoff spot after missing out on it in 2019. Rhodes will join a defense with the likes of Sheldon Day, Malik Hooker, Darius Leonard, and the recently acquired DeForest Buckner. He started 15 games last year and totaled 54 solo tackles, six pass deflections, and five tackles for loss.
