NBA: Maxey declares for the draft
According to the Courier Journal, the Kentucky Wildcats freshman shooting guard Tyrese Maxey has declared for the upcoming 2020 NBA Draft. Maxey had an up-and-down freshman campaign, but he was one of the best players in the SEC and had a number of big performances, including going for 26 points versus #1 Michigan State in the season opener and 27 points in an overtime victory over rival Louisville. Maxey was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team after putting up 14.0 points and 3.2 assists per game on 29.2% shooting from three. Maxey is already the second Kentucky starter to announce that they're leaving school early as point guard Ashton Hagans did following his sophomore season. We have Maxey projected as the #15 pick in our Mock Draft Vol. 1, going to the Orlando Magic.
