NFL: Ravens top power rankings
1. Baltimore Ravens (11-2): The Ravens have won nine straight games and have an impressive 6-1 road record. They have been the best team in the league for the last two months with victories over the Seattle Seahawks, Houston Texans, New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, and more. John Harbaugh's defense has also been one of the best in the league, as they have allowed just 236 points. Baltimore will host the New York Jets this weekend.
2. San Francisco 49ers (11-2): The 49ers are led by a dominant defense, which has allowed only 229 points through 13 games, as they have shut down everyone expect the Seattle Seahawks, Ravens, and New Orleans Saints. And they were still able to take down the Saints on the road. This team has a real shot to come out of the NFC, especially since they are 5-1 at home, and will likely host multiple playoff games. San Francisco gets the Atlanta Falcons next.
3. Seattle Seahawks (10-3): The Seahawks didn't look very good in their 28-12 loss versus the Los Angeles Rams last weekend, but it happens, and they should be able to bounce back against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, Dec. 15. The Seahawks, surprisingly enough, have been better on the road (6-1) than at home (4-2), so we'll see if that continues into the postseason. Seattle finishes the year versus Carolina, Arizona Cardinals, and San Francisco.
4. New Orleans Saints (10-3): The Saints, despite losing to the 49ers on Sunday, Dec. 8, looked really good. They faced one of the best defenses in the league and hung 46 points in a two-point loss. That was the first time New Orleans scored 40+ points this season so if they can continue scoring at that level, the Saints will have a shot at winning it all. New Orleans has scored 344 points and have allowed 296 points thus far.
5. Kansas City Chiefs (9-4): The Chiefs are back. They struggled in the middle of the season with close wins versus the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings, and losses to the Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers, and Tennessee Titans. But Patrick Mahomes seems to finally be healthy again and when he's at his best, the Chiefs are one of the top contenders in the league. Kansas City hosts the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon.
