CFB: Week 13 Preview

Team Rankings:

1. LSU (10-0, 98)

2. Clemson (11-0, 95)

3. Ohio State (10-0, 95)

4. Oregon (9-1, 83)

5. Georgia (9-1, 82)

6. Alabama (9-1, 81)

7. Oklahoma (9-1, 78)

8. Utah (9-1, 74)

9. Penn State (9-1, 70)

10. Minnesota (9-1, 48)

Breakdown: #1 LSU remains at the top of our rankings, following a 58-37 win over Ole Miss, where they have for the majority of the last month of the season. The Tigers should be able to take care of Arkansas and Texas A&M and finish the regular season at 12-0. #2 Clemson is off next week before their final regular season game at South Carolina. #3 Ohio State is tied with Clemson with 95 points following their most recent win over Rutgers, 42-21. #4 Oregon sits at the fourth slot for the second week in a row, while a pair of SEC teams follow up in #5 Georgia and #6 Alabama. #7 Oklahoma still has an outside chance of reaching the playoffs after they came back from being down 28-3 versus Baylor. #8 Utah comes ahead of a couple Big Ten teams: #9 Penn State and #10 Minnesota.

Week 13 Picks:

Pittsburgh @ Virginia Tech

#9 Penn State @ #3 Ohio State

Texas @ Baylor

#4 Oregon @ Arizona State

Texas A&M @ #5 Georgia

Picks Records:

Caleb Henderson: 44-16

Charles Post: 50-10

Chinedum Wejinya: 50-10

Tyler Taylor: 39-21

Playoff Picks:

1. LSU (13-0, SEC champions)

2. Ohio State (13-0, Big Ten champions)

3. Clemson (13-0, ACC champions)

4. Oregon (12-1, Pac-12 champions)

Breakdown: Even though it's not a ranked matchup, Pittsburgh traveling to Virginia Tech is a big game when it comes to deciding who will play Clemson in the ACC title game. Both teams have a shot at winning the division with a 7-3 record and the loser will be eliminated from contention. In the game of the week, #9 Penn State heads to Columbus to face #3 Ohio State. The winner clinches the Big Ten West. Texas, who lost a heartbreaker to Iowa State last weekend, will look to beat Baylor on the road. #4 Oregon faces their final real test before the Pac-12 championship versus Herm Edwards and Arizona State. Texas A&M, who has won two games in a row, will try to keep it going in a tough matchup . against #5 Georgia. We're picking Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Baylor, Oregon, and Georgia.

Heisman Standings:

1. Joe Burrow (LSU, 20)

2. Jalen Hurts (Oklahoma, 15)

3. Justin Fields (Ohio State, 7)

4. Trevor Lawrence (Clemson, 6)

5. Jonathan Taylor (Wisconsin, 4)

Breakdown: Joe Burrow remains at the top of our Heisman standings. He has been the best player in the country since the Tigers' win over Texas in Week 2. He has continuously put up huge numbers and looks like the runaway favorite to take home the award in a month. Jalen Hurts has been on Burrow's heels for the last month and has all but clinched a trip to New York City for the presentation, even if he doesn't win it. Justin Fields has gotten better every week and is starting to get some recognition, although it's hard for him to compete for the spotlight with his own teammates as JK Dobbins and Chase Young have had Heisman-esque seasons. Trevor Lawrence's recent performances have put him back in the discussion, while Jonathan Taylor seems to be a lock for the Doak Walker Award.
