MLB: Red Sox Chase Kershaw

Chas Post

The Boston Red Sox jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the World Series, after chasing SP Clayton Kershaw in the fifth inning. Kershaw gave up seven hits and five earned runs, also walking three batters. He did have five strikeouts, though. LF Andrew Benintendi gave all of the Los Angeles Dodgers' pitchers fits, going 4-for-5 with one RBI and three runs. The Red Sox's ace SP Chris Sale didn't exactly have his best outing, either, giving up five hits and three earned runs over four innings pitched. Later in the game, Boston extended their lead when 3B Eduardo Núñez came in and hit a pitch hit, three run home run, off of RP Alex Wood. 3B Justin Turner compiled one run and went 3-for-5 for the Dodgers in the loss. Game 2 is set for October 24th.
