CFB: Week 6 Preview

Top-10 Rankings:

1. Alabama (5-0, 99 Pts)

2. Georgia (5-0, 94 Pts)

3. Ohio State (5-0, 92 Pts)

4. Clemson (5-0, 91 Pts)

5. Notre Dame (5-0, 80 Pts)

6. Oklahoma (5-0, 79 Pts)

7. West Virginia (4-0, 71 Pts)

8. Washington (4-1, 65 Pts)

9. LSU (5-0, 61 Pts)

10. Auburn (4-1, 53 Pts)

Review: No. 5 Notre Dame (+2) was our biggest riser of the week as they knocked off fellow top-10 opponent and rival, Stanford: 38-17. QB Ian Book has completely changed this offense since taking over against Wake Forest and all of a sudden, it seems like the Fighting Irish might be a legitimate CFP contender. They'll face a road test against Virginia Tech this weekend, but after that the schedule really eases up. Other risers were Washington (+2) and Ohio State (+1). Our only faller from Week 5 was No. 4 Clemson (-1) who slipped down a spot after narrowly escaping Syracuse, 27-23. The Orange led by 10 in the fourth quarter before RB Travis Etienne saved the day (and possibly the season) for the Tigers.

Weekly Standings:

Caleb Henderson: 18-7

Charles Post: 21-4

Chinedum Wejinya: 21-4

Tyler Taylor: 15-10

Consensus Picks:

LSU @ Florida

Texas @ Oklahoma

Ohio State @ Indiana

Arizona State @ Colorado

Notre Dame @ Virginia Tech

Review: No. 9 LSU has already defeated Miami, Auburn, and Ole Miss, so their resume is arguably the best in the country. They could add another notch to that as they go on the road to face SEC East foe Florida. The Gators are coming off of a win over Mississippi State. The Red River Shootout pits two extremely hot teams against one another and the winner will be the favorite to win the Big 12. No. 3 Ohio State will stay on the road after knocking off Penn State. The Hoosiers usually play Ohio State pretty tough, but the talent gap is obvious. In the Pac-12, Arizona State will look to upset Colorado. And finally, No. 5 Notre Dame heads to Virginia Tech. We'll take LSU, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Colorado, and Notre Dame to win these matches.

Heisman Standings:

1. Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama) (+0)

2. Dwayne Haskins (Ohio State) (+0)

3. Kyler Murray (Oklahoma) (+0)

4. Will Grier (West Virginia) (+0)

5. Trace McSorley (Penn State) (+1)

Review: QB Tua Tagovailoa remains at our top spot, where he has been since Week 2. This time he didn't even throw an incompletion. He was 8/8 for 128 yards, two touchdowns, and a 97.4 QBR. QB Dwayne Haskins holds onto the second spot (or at least a tie for it), after helping the Buckeyes come back to beat Penn State by one. He threw for 270 yards, three scores, and an interception. However, Haskins only completed 56.4 percent of his passes. QB Kyler Murray had the best day of his career, notching 432 yards and six (!) passing touchdowns, not to mention another one on the ground. He finished with a 99.2 QBR in the 66-33 win over Baylor. QB Will Grier and QB Trace McSorley round of the top five, as the former threw for 370 yards.
