1. Alabama (1-0, 100 Pts)
2. Clemson (1-0, 96 Pts)
3. Georgia (1-0, 92 Pts)
4. Ohio State (1-0, 87 Pts)
5. Wisconsin (1-0, 84 Pts)
6. Oklahoma (1-0, 80 Pts)
7. Notre Dame (1-0, 60 Pts)
8. Stanford (1-0, 60 Pts)
9. Auburn (1-0, 58 Pts)
10. Washington (0-1, 47 Pts)
Review: No. 1 Alabama began their season with a resounding 51-14 win over Louisville. It's really what we have come to expect from the Crimson Tide in Week 1. They're not going to be tested anytime soon. RB Damien Harris totaled 55 yards on seven carries. No. 6 Oklahoma didn't seem to miss a beat despite losing Baker Mayfield as QB Kyler Murray had a 99.4 QBR to lead the Sooners to a 63-14 victory over Florida Atlantic. No. 10 Washington was the only top-10 team to go down as they slipped up in their opener against No. 9 Auburn. The Tigers came away with a 21-16 win as QB Jarrett Stidham had 273 passing yards. No. 7 Notre Dame also earned a ranked victory over Michigan, as Brandon Wimbush completed 54.5 percent of his passes.
Weekly Picks:
Caleb Henderson: 3-2
Charles Post: 3-2
Chinedum Wejinya: 3-2
Tyler Taylor: 4-1
Consensus Picks:
No. 2 Clemson @ Texas A&M
UCLA @ No. 6 Oklahoma
No. 3 Georgia @ South Carolina
USC @ No. 8 Stanford
Michigan State @ Arizona State
Review: No. 2 Clemson opens the Week 2 slate with a tough road game against Texas A&M (1-0), but should still be able to come out victorious. The Aggies have a lot of talent to go along with home field advantage, but Clemson has too much experience and a stout defensive line. We'll take Clemson by 10 points. No. 6 Oklahoma will face UCLA (0-1) and should send the Bruins to 0-2 with Chip Kelly at the helm. No. 3 Georgia will get their first road test of 2018-19, but South Carolina's defense has holes and QB Jake Fromm should be able to find open receivers. Bulldogs win by double digits after a close first half. In our later games, the Pac-12 takes the spotlight. No. 8 Stanford will take on USC, while Michigan State travels to Arizona State.
Heisman Standings:
1. Bryce Love (Stanford) (+0)
2. Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama) (+3)
3. Will Grier (West Virginia) (+4)
4. Kyler Murray (Oklahoma) (+3)
5. J.K. Dobbins (Ohio State) (+3)
Review: Bryce Love didn't exactly have his best game in the opener against San Diego State, going for only 29 yards, but he's still the favorite to win the Heisman because of his immaculate performance last season. With that said, if he has another poor outing against USC this weekend then he'll surely drop down. Tua Tagovailoa, the Alabama QB, was impressive in his first career start as he recorded 227 yards on 75.0 percent passing in the Tide's 37-point win over Louisville. Will Grier was an absolute monster in Week 1 against Tennessee and with his explosive offense, will likely continue climbing up the list. Just behind him is another Big 12 player: Kyler Murray, who threw for 209 yards on 81.8 percent. J.K. Dobbins rounds out our standings.
