NFL: 2018-19 Awards Projections

MVP: Jared Goff (Rams): Goff threw for 3,804 yards last year to go along with his 28 passing scores. He had an explosive season in his sophomore campaign and we're betting on him to continue that trend. He has a dangerous set of weapons in Todd Gurley, Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods, Pharaoh Cooper, and more. They will drastically help his statistics which will result in a lot of yards and touchdowns. We're also expecting the Rams, behind head coach Sean McVay, to have a top tier record (after going 11-5 last season). If they can do that, and Goff shows out, he'll be the obvious choice for MVP. Similarly to how Carson Wentz was going to win it before his late season injury, which meant Tom Brady took it home.

Honorable Mentions:

2. Aaron Rodgers (Packers)

3. Tom Brady (Patriots)

4. Jimmy Garoppolo (49ers)

5. Deshaun Watson (Texans)

Defensive Player of the Year: Marshon Lattimore (Saints): Lattimore had a great rookie season for the Saints and he should build on that heading into Year 2. He had 52 total tackles last year and came away with five picks and a forced fumble. He was also a difference maker in the NFC Playoffs as he had six tackles and four deflections in the two games. Lattimore burst onto the NFL scene in Week 5 against the Detroit Lions as the Saints DB came away with five combined tackles, two pass defenses, and a 27-yard pick six TD. He was inarguably one of the best players on the field at just 21-years-old. Lattimore is going to continue to get even better as the years go by and we think he could surprise some people and win this award in 2018-19.

Honorable Mentions:

2. Von Miller (Broncos)

3. Jalen Ramsey (Jaguars) 4. J.J. Watt (Texans) 5. Joey Bosa (Chargers)

Rookie of the Year: Bradley Chubb (Broncos): Chubb was absolutely dominant in his four years at NC State and because of it, he earned the No. 5 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. The Broncos selected him to go with Von Miller on their defensive line, and immediately teams in the AFC West were frightened. If Chubb turns out to be the player his potential shows, then that's a downright scary front. He finished his college career with 198 total tackles, including a career high of 72 in his senior year. Chubb also recorded 10 sacks in each of his final two years, and had 25 for his tenure. Lastly, he knows how to find the ball as he proved so with six fumbles forced and one recovered. Chubb is our pick for Rookie of the Year.

Honorable Mentions:

2. Saquon Barkley (Giants) 3. Sam Darnold (USC)

4. Baker Mayfield (Browns)

5. Roquan Smith (Bears)
