NBA: Why We Love Sports Vol. 4

Here at Sports Posts, our writers have a passion for sports like nothing else, and during our childhood, adolescence, and early adulthood, we've been treated to exhilarating, inspiring, intoxicating, and stimulating sporting events that have created an addiction for each of us. We spend countless hours reading and writing about our favorite athletes - We endlessly debate our contemporaries on who's the Greatest of All-Time - We spend our hard earned dollars to watch our favorite teams face their rivals. And because of that, each one of us decided to put together our most memorable moments that started that fascination for athletics, competition, and sports.

HERE ARE CHINEDUM WEJINYA'S TOP MOMENTS:

1. Tracy McGrady 13 Points in 33 Seconds (2004): One of the many reasons I love sports is, I was watching a game, with the Houston Rockets vs. the San Antonio Spurs and it seemed like the game was over. But then T-Mac goes on this amazing run to make 13 points in 33 seconds - It seemed like a video game where you turn up all your sliders and you can make every shot. In that moment, I realized how special the game of basketball was.

2. Kobe Bryant vs. the Phoenix Suns (2006): Kobe Bryant had an amazing performance vs. the Suns in the 2006 playoffs. Down in the fourth quarter, Smush Parker stole the ball and got it into Kobe's hands. He drove and made an off balance lay-up to send the game into overtime. And then in the extra period, Kobe turned into the Black Mamba and hit a game-winning fall-away shot to beat the Suns and go up in the series.

3. Detroit Pistons Win the NBA Finals (2004): A great day in Michigan sports history was when the Pistons won the championship, and I was around six-years-old when I was watching. This was my first memory of ever watching any type of sport. The Pistons weren’t supposed to win that NBA championship with the stacked Los Angeles Lakers team, featuring Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, Karl Malone, and Gary Payton, but they did and that showed the fight that the whole state of Michigan had in them, led by Chauncey Billups.

4. New York Giants Down the New England Patriots (2008): The first time when the Giants faced the Patriots, it seemed like they had no chance to win, but through the whole game, they stuck close and had an opportunity to win the game. QB Eli Manning escaped a sack and threw it down the middle of the field. And his WR David Tyree, went and got it, but it was so high that he used his helmet to complete the catch. It was the first time I saw something that crazy happen, and they would go on to win the Super Bowl.

5. Lebron James Scores 25 Straight Points (2007): It just seemed like it was Lebron James time the whole 2007 NBA Playoffs. In Game 5 against the Detroit Pistons, I watched in amazement as he just put his whole team on his back and won them the game by scoring 25 points consecutively or his team. That’s when I knew I was witnessing one of the greats.
