NFL: Mock Draft Version 2.0
Check out my Mock Draft Version 1.0 from December 1, 2016.
The 2017 NFL Draft will be the 82nd annual meeting, which is set to begin with the 32-pick first round on April 27, and the remainder of the draft on April 28 and 29, which will be held in Philadelphia for the first time since 1961 when Tommy Mason was selected No. 1 overall by the Minnesota Vikings. Cleveland holds to No. 1 pick for the upcoming draft because of their 1-15 record last season.
1. Browns: Myles Garrett DE/Texas A&M
This pick seems to be a lock up to this point as Garrett would immediately become a cornerstone on the Browns defense.
2. 49ers: Jonathan Allen DT/Alabama
Despite Allen’s shoulder problems, he is a special player and could be a big help to the 49ers defense.
3. Bears: Malik Hooker S/Ohio State
Hooker is another player with injury issues, but he has gained comparisons to Ed Reed and he is a special talent.
4. Jaguars: Leonard Fournette HB/LSU
Because the Jaguars are reluctant to move on from Blake Bortles, they need to help him out. Putting Fournette in the backfield should do that.
5. Titans (via Rams): John Ross WR/Washington
With the 4.22 that John Ross ran at the combine, some team is going to overdraft him. The Titans were very interested in trading for Brandin Cooks, and Ross is a very similar player to Cooks.
6. Jets: Jamal Adams S/LSU
Adams is a special talent, and the Jets could afford to add another piece to their defense.
7. Chargers: Cam Robinson T/Alabama
The Chargers do not have a very good offensive line at all, and it’s high time they started fixing it.
8. Panthers: Dalvin Cook HB/Florida State
With Jonathan Stewart getting up there in age, the Panthers could afford to look for his replacement to help out Cam Newton.
9. Bengals: Solomon Thomas DE/Stanford
Thomas has shot up draft boards as of late, and he would be an impact player for the Bengals day 1.
10. Bills: Reuben Foster LB/Alabama
After being kicked out of the combine, Foster’s stock has tumbled. However, he is a special talent, and someone will justify dealing with his character issues and take him in the top-10.
11. Saints: Corey Davis WR/Western Michigan
12. Browns (via Eagles): Marshon Lattimore CB/Ohio State
13. Cardinals: Mitchell Trubisky QB/North Carolina
14. Eagles (via Vikings): Marlon Humphrey CB/Alabama
15. Colts: OJ Howard TE/Alabama
16. Ravens: Haason Reddick EDGE/Temple
17. Redskins: Mike Williams WR/Clemson
18. Titans: Zach Cunningham LB/Vanderbilt
19. Buccaneers: Jabrill Peppers S/LB Michigan
20. Broncos: Ryan Ramczyk T/Wisconsin
21. Lions: Taco Charlton DE/Michigan
22. Dolphins: David Njoku TE/Miami (FL)
23. Giants: Garrett Bolles T/Utah
24. Raiders: Christian McCaffrey HB/Stanford
25. Texans: Deshone Kizer QB/Notre Dame
26. Seahawks: Dan Feeney G/Indiana
27. Chiefs: Teez Tabor CB/Florida
28. Cowboys: Takkarist McKinley DE/UCLA
29. Packers: Quincy Wilson CB/Florida
30. Steelers: TJ Watt LB/Wisconsin
31. Falcons: Caleb Brantley DT/Florida
32. Saints (via Patriots): Adoree’ Jackson CB/USC
