NFL: Kelce collects contract extension
Travis Kelce, one of the elite tight ends in the NFL, received a contract extension through 2025 with the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, August 13. The 30-year-old pass catcher has been arguably the best tight end in the league over the last four seasons, compiling 1,000+ yards in each year, including 1,229 yards and five touchdowns on 97 receptions last year as the Chiefs came away with a Super Bowl title. Kelce is now heading into his eighth year in the league and he'll be expected to surpass the 1,000-yard plateau once again if the 2020 NFL regular season is played. Earlier in the day, the San Francisco 49ers signed their superstar tight end George Kittle to a five-year, $75 million deal. Kelce and Kittle are the two best tight ends in the league and are now both on contract through 2025.
