NFL: Chiefs pick up Kelechi Osemele

The Kansas City Chiefs signed offensive guard Kelechi Osemele on Monday, July 27, and according to NBC Sports, the contract is a one-year deal worth approximately $2 million. The 6'5 lineman is going into his ninth year in the league, and Kansas City will become his fourth franchise, joining the Baltimore Ravens, Oakland Raiders, and New York Jets. Osemele played in just three games last year with New York but he started 11 games in 2018 with the Raiders and picked up 735 offensive snaps (71% of the offense). The two years prior to that, Osemele was a Pro Bowler. If he returns to that level, the Chiefs become even more likely to reach a second straight Super Bowl. The other four offensive lineman that are projected to start for Kansas City are Eric Fisher, Austin Reiter, Mitchell Schwartz, and Andrew Wylie.
