NBA: Clippers handle Lakers in debut
In the first Battle of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, 112-102, at Staples Center on Tuesday, Oct. 22. Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers, which we expect him to do for much of the year, with 30 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Lou Williams was really good off the bench as he prepares for another run at the Sixth Man of the Year. He totaled 21 points, seven assists, and five rebounds. On the losing side, Anthony Davis led the Lakers with a team-high 10 rebounds in his team debut. He added 25 points in 37 minutes. Danny Green scored 28 points and kept the Lakers in the game for awhile. LeBron James had just 18 points, but did add nine rebounds and eight assists. The Lakers next game will be versus the Utah Jazz while the Clippers get to face the Golden State Warriors.
