NBA: Nets Nab Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving
According to Adrian Wojnarowski and other reports, former NBA MVP and two-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant will sign a four-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets worth approximately $164 million. Kyrie Irving, a six-time NBA All-Star, will also be heading to play for the Nets and is going to sign a four-year contract as well. The Nets make two huge splashes before free agency even officially begins, and it appears they're going to go after DeAndre Jordan as well. Durant averaged 26.0 points and 6.4 rebounds per game last year, but is expected to miss all of the 2019-20 season with an Achilles injury. Irving put up 23.8 points in his second season with the Boston Celtics. The Nets overachieved and went 42-40 this past year en route to a playoff appearance and they will be projected to build on that in the coming years.
