NBA: Raptors Dethrone Warriors

Staff Writer

The Toronto Raptors have won Game 6 of the 2018-19 NBA Finals, taking home their first championship in franchise history. Toronto upended the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors, 114-110, behind 22 points and six rebounds from Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard. The Warriors came in as favorites, having won three of the last four titles, but without former MVP Kevin Durant, they weren't the same team. The Raptors, the other hand, looked like the more complete team and used their balanced offense and tough defense to eliminate the Warriors. Kyle Lowry and Pascal Siakam combined for 52 points, 13 assists, and 17 rebounds in Game 6 to help give Toronto the victory. Stephen Curry had 21 points in the loss, while Klay Thompson shot 66.7% from the field before hurting his knee.
