MLB: Cy Young Favorites

AL Cy Young: Right now it seems like there are five guys that have really separated themselves from the pack, but going even further than that, the top two have been beyond dominant in their first 12 starts of the season. Those two are Justin Verlander (Astros) and Domingo German (Yankees). Verlander is 8-2 with a 2.38 ERA and 95 strikeouts in 79.1 innings pitched. He's been absolutely incredible. Although, German is right there with a 9-1 record and a 3.43 ERA. He also has 63 strikeouts in 60.1 innings. Robert Osuna (Astros) joins a couple of Minnesota Twins pitchers in Martin Perez and Jake Odorizzi. Osuna, who has appeared in 25 games out of the bullpen has a 3-0 record with a 2.13 ERA. Perez and Odorizzi are a combined 14-3 for the Twins. Verlander is the favorite right now, but it's still wide open.

Rankings:

1. Justin Verlander (35%)

2. Domingo German (30%) 3. Martin Perez (15%)

5. Jake Odorizzi (10%)4. Robert Osuna (10%)

NL Cy Young: In the National League, there is one clear favorite, with several trailing him. The leader in the clubhouse is definitely Hyun-Jin Ryan (Dodgers). Aaron Nola (Phillies) and Brandon Woodruff (Brewers) are probably the next closest options, but Ryan has certainly been the most impressive through his first 10 appearances. In those games, he is 7-1 with an impressive 1.65 ERA to go along with 62 strikeouts and just 12 earned runs in 65.1 innings pitched. Nola hasn't lost a game yet at 6-0, but he's got a 4.18 ERA and has given up 30 earned runs. Woodruff is 7-1 for Milwaukee with a 3.22 ERA and 75 strikeouts. A couple of other guys to keep an eye on over the summer are Clayton Kershaw (Dodgers) and Kyle Hendricks (Cubs). Kershaw is 5-0, while Hendricks has a 3.09 ERA with 61 strikeouts.

Rankings:

1. Hyun-Jin Ryan (65%)

2. Brandon Woodruff (15%)

3. Aaron Nola (10%)

4. Clayton Kershaw (6%)

5. Kyle Hendricks (4%)
