NFL: QB Prospects Pro Comparisons

1. Kyler Murray (Pro Comparison: Russell Wilson): While yes, you could call this a lazy comparison, Kyler Murray’s game is so similar to Russell Wilson’s its hard not to make it. The two are both shorter than six feet, both have a baseball background, and play a similar type of game, extending the play with their legs if nothing is open downfield. Plus, with Wilson’s new extension, the proof is in the pudding that a player like Murray can succeed in the league.

2. Dwayne Haskins (Pro Comparison: Ben Roethlisberger): Dwayne Haskins and Ben Roethlisberger are similar in that they’re big, bulky guys that can take a lick in the pocket and keep on ticking. While Big Ben is actually more mobile than Haskins, ideally both of these guys try to win games from the pocket rather than with their legs. Both of them also came from Ohio schools, a rather odd coincidence but another similarity between the two nonetheless.

3. Will Grier (Pro Comparison: Patrick Mahomes): Will Grier and Patrick Mahomes have very similar play styles. They both came from Big 12 spread offenses that encouraged them to aggressively push the ball downfield consistently. They also do not like to throw the ball away, as they will keep the play alive as long as it takes to find that open receiver. As we’ve seen Mahomes has already turned into a superstar, and Grier has that same high ceiling.
