SOC: Champions League Update

In the first leg of the quarterfinals in the UEFA Champions League, three teams earned wins while Ajax and Juventus drew 1-1. Tottenham pulled off an upset against Manchester City, taking a 1-0 win against their Premier League foe. Son Heung-Min was the hero as he notched a 78th minute goal to break the scoreless tie. Liverpool was the only team of the eight remaining to score multiple goals, as Naby Keïta (5th minute) and Roberto Firmino (26th minute) helped defeat F.C. Porto. Cristiano Ronaldo was able to put Juventus ahead of Ajax, but a minute later, David Neres evened the match. In the final outing of the leg, Luke Shaw scored an own goal which allowed Barcelona to take down Manchester United. The second leg will begin on Tuesday, April 16th and conclude the following day.
