NFL: Mock Draft 2.0
1. Arizona Cardinals (13-3): Kyler Murray (Oklahoma, QB): The Cardinals seem like they have made the decision to pass on Nick Bosa and take Kyler Murray. He fits Kliff Kingsbury's system, and was remarkable in his only year starting at Oklahoma. Although the Cardinals drafted Josh Rosen last year, everything points to them trying to trade him and draft Murray, who threw for 4,361 yards and 42 touchdowns. Murray will join David Johnson in Arizona.
2. San Francisco 49ers (4-12): Nick Bosa (Ohio State, DE): The 49ers struggled last year after Jimmy Garoppolo went down with a season-ending injury, but there is still a lot of hope for the future. There is a solid core on both offense and defense, and the organization can get a jolt with this selection. Nick Bosa was the presumed top pick for most of the last year until Murray jumped to the top. Bosa, who had 34 tackles and 8.5 sacks in 2017, will likely land with the 49ers.
3. New York Jets (4-12): Quinnen Williams (Alabama, DT): The Jets seemed to have found their quarterback in the draft last year with Sam Darnold, and he was solid in his rookie year. Now, it seems pretty obvious that they will go after a defensive player this time around. Quinnen Williams and Josh Allen seem like the best options at this slot. Williams had 71 tackles and eight sacks last year. He could join Jamal Adams and Leonard Williams on a pretty good defense.
4. Oakland Raiders (4-12): Josh Allen (Kentucky, LB): The Raiders traded for Antonio Brown a few weeks ago which makes the offense look a lot more dangerous, but the defense still has a lot of work to do. There are some building blocks, though, like Gareon Conley, Arden Key, and Karl Joseph. And you could potentially add Josh Allen to that, who totaled 88 tackles, 17 sacks, and five forced fumbles. He is arguably the most NFL-ready player right now.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-11): D.K. Metcalf (Ole Miss, WR): The Buccaneers could take anyone with this pick since we aren't quite sure if they're going to move on from Jameis Winston or if they believe they could make a playoff run. We'll guess Tampa Bay gives it one more shot and gives Winston a skilled wideout in D.K. Metcalf. His stock has risen drastically after he ran a 4.33 40-yard dash at the combine. He also had a 40.5 inch vertical jump.
6. New York Giants (5-11): Rashan Gary (Michigan, DE): According to the Giants Wire, the Giants "won't hesitate to extend" Eli Manning's contract. Just a couple of months ago, it seemed like the only clear pick was New York taking Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins. But now it's looking more and more likely that the Giants will take a defensive end and Rashan Gary is the top option. He had 38 tackles and 3.5 sacks at Michigan last season.
7. Jacksonville Jaguars (5-11): Devin Bush (Michigan, LB): The Jaguars fell completely off after reaching the 2017 AFC Championship. They were one game away from the Super Bowl and then slipped to just five wins this previous year. They have moved on from Blake Bortles and signed Nick Foles. There are a lot of options here for them, but Jacksonville will go after a linebacker, likely Devin Bush or Devin White. We'll see they add Bush, who had 67 tackles last year.
8. Detroit Lions (6-10): Montez Sweat (Mississippi State, DE): The Lions got worse after hiring Matt Patricia, but they are showing some signs of life during the offseason, as they've signed Danny Amendola and Trey Flowers, and should get Kerryon Johnson back from injury. Detroit is losing Ziggy Ansah so they should look for his replacement and Montez Sweat is a great choice. In 2018, Sweat totaled 50 tackles and 8.5 sacks for Mississippi State.
9. Buffalo Bills (6-10): Jawaan Taylor (OT): The Bills have a good quarterback and running back duo in sophomore Josh Allen and veteran LaSean McCoy. The issue last season was they had no one to protect Allen or create running room for McCoy when he was healthy. They should look no further than the clear cut best offensive lineman in the draft class, in Jawaan Taylor out of Florida. The 6'5" lineman weighs 334 pounds and played three years for the Gators.
10. Denver Broncos (6-10): Dwayne Haskins (Ohio State, QB): The Broncos traded for former Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco during the offseason, but it still seems very likely they take a quarterback here. Flacco is 34-years-old and he was drafted 11 years ago. He doesn't have many more years left, but he could help a young QB develop. It's looking like Drew Lock or Dwayne Haskins. We'll say Haskins goes here. He had 4,831 yards and 50 touchdowns last year.
