CBB: Kansas' Top Three Teams
1. 2008 Jayhawks (37-3, 13-3): Kansas is currently 11-5 in the Big 12 and are one game away from failing to win at least a share of the conference for the first time in 14 years. It's been an incredible ride for Bill Self's team, but it looks like it's going to come to an end. So let's take a look back at the Jayhawks' top three teams during their 14-year victory run. The cream of the crop has to be the 2008 team. Kansas went 37-3 after starting the season 20-0. The Jayhawks lost three games, all on the road, and shared the regular season title with Texas with a 13-3 record. After defeating the Longhorns in the Big 12 title game, 84-74, Kansas advanced to the NCAA Tournament as a No. 1 seed. The Jayhawks and Mario Chalmers (18 points, three assists) took down Memphis in one of the best championship games.
2. 2011 Jayhawks (35-3, 14-2): Tyshawn Taylor, Josh Selby, Marcus Morris (17.2 points, 7.6 rebounds), Markieff Morris, and Thomas Robinson helped lead the 2011 Jayhawks to a great 35-3 record, which included another amazing start to the season. Kansas ran through their first 18 games, consisting of victories over UCLA, 13th ranked Memphis, Michigan, and others. The Jayhawks only lost two regular season games, to Texas and Kansas State, and got their revenge against the Longhorns in the Big 12 title game once again, as Taylor led the team with 20 points. In the NCAA Tournament, Self's crew beat Boston, Illinois, and Richmond, before going down to VCU in the Elite Eight. Marcus Morris dropped 20 points and 16 rebounds in the loss. Despite coming up short, this was one of the best Kansas teams ever.
3. 2018 Jayhawks (31-8. 13-5): The Jayhawks had a lot of other teams during this run with less than eight losses, but this team fought through a ton of adversity and still won the Big 12 regular season title, the Big 12 tournament title, and reached the Final Four. Kansas dealt with a lot this season as Frank Mason and Josh Jackson departed to the NBA, and Carlton Bragg decided to transfer, while five-star recruit Bill Preston wasn't ruled eligible to play. Through 25 games, the Jayhawks were just 19-6 and their Big 12 title hopes were up in the air. But Devonte Graham (17.3 points, 7.2 assists) pushed his team to a five-game win streak to clinch a 13th straight conference title. Kansas won the Big 12 Tournament title, before getting past Clemson and Duke in the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight, respectively.
