3. Chelsea (3-0-0, 9 Pts, +2): Chelsea began their season with a 3-0 shutout victory over Huddersfield, which came as no surprise. Although they were favored against Arsenal, being able to win is still an impressive feat and they kept their perfect record intact through two weeks. In their third outing, Chelsea slipped by Newcastle United in a 2-1 match. It wasn't the best Chelsea has looked, but obviously coming out victorious is what truly matters. Chelsea is a possession team and their 81 percent possession goes to show just how good they can be on the pitch. Against Newcastle, they also had five corner kicks and their 76th minute goal came from Eden Hazard. Chelsea's next match will be against Bournemouth on September 1st.
2. Tottenham (3-0-0, 9 Pts, +2): Tottenham came into their game against Manchester United with a lot of pressure on them. If they want to be able to compete with the top tier, then winning games like that on the road is a must. I'm not sure if anyone could have guessed just how much they'd dominate. After a rather uneventful first 45 minutes, the Spurs jumped all over Man U in the opening minutes of the second half. Harry Kane got the goal scoring started with a beautiful header in the 50th minute. Just two minutes later, Lucas Moura put even more distance between the two teams. And he wasn't done yet as he added his second score of the day in the 84th minute. Tottenham is 3-0-0 for the first time since 2009.
1. Liverpool (3-0-0, 9 Pts, +1): Liverpool is the best team in the league right now, and it's hard to argue that case. Even if they won't be at season's end, it's the truth at the moment. They're dominating in every match and have still not allowed a goal. Liverpool is +7 in the three games, with victories over West Ham (4-0), Crystal Palace (2-0), and Brighton (1-0). Mo Salah has two goals so far in the three outings, one against West Ham in the opener and he also scored the lone goal against Brighton last weekend. He put Liverpool up 1-0 in the 23rd minute and they were able to hang on from there. They're currently riding a seven-game winning streak including league matches, friendlies, and the International Champions Cup. Liverpool faces Leicester next.
